This instrumental grew out of our desire to
compose something bright and unabashedly
'triumphant", evoking the jubilation of
​VE Day celebrations and ticker-tape parades
but without all the bloodshed and loss pre-
ceeding it. This music plainly conjures up
the imagery of military victory and certainly
doesn't exclude or denigrate that part of the
human experience, but encompasses much more
than that. It encompasses an end to conflict,
suffering, lost, wasted effort and wasted life
energy. Whatever the war is about, whatever kind
of war it is, it is over now; and that deserves
celebration.
