"Play" is an instrumental homage to the simple joy of play itself, no matter who we are, our chronological age, our stage of life (a toddler cruising the furniture or an octogenarian on his or her death bed). Even prisoners at Auschwitz found ways to be playful, putting on musical comedies at Christmas time (I couldn't believe it the first time I read that!). The possibility of joy, of true play, is all around us, if only we can see it, feel it and act on it. This song is a door to that realization and the energy to act on it right here, right now.
