In the early summer of 1992, I was sitting under a tree on a hill with a particularly idyllic view of the campus of the university I attended reading Plato's "Apology" and feeling in ways I'd never felt before how amazingly little I really knew about life, the universe or anything (but feeling so incredibly wise for realizing that ... You've been there ... ;p). More than anything else though, I felt completely at peace, completely happy and contented. That's my definition of happiness: Here and now being more than enough. Not anything we grasp at or steal away from 'real life' but being truly here and now and loving it. That kind of joy is what this instrumental guitar piece was always about. Technical FYI - The babbling brook, crickets and birdsong were added afterwards to cancel out some annoying white noise I couldn't screen out from the original recording of the only recorded performance of the piece I was really happy with after about 25 takes. When you listen to this piece, I hope you feel a fraction of the peace and contentment I felt that day in 1992. - Matt Entwistle
