about

This instrumental tribute to courage and living life out loud was originally written for a family member who had been diagnosed with cancer and given to them as a birthday gift. "A.O.F.A." is short for that person's philosophy of life: "All Or F*** All". This is the most group-like piece of tight RegRock we've ever recorded together. If you listen carefully, especially to Ian's solo work toward the end of the second movement of this piece, you may hear the opening line from Jimmy Page's iconic solo from "Stairway to Heaven", the opening riff from Max Webster's "Lip Service", the classic lick from Hendrix's "Voodoo Chile", and the riff from "What You're Doing" on Rush's debut album, overdubbed across the chords from "Lenny" by Stevie-Ray Vaughan and "Sunshine of Your Love" by Cream. And, don't tell Ian, but I think this is some of his most brilliant lead guitar work to date!
- Matt Entwistle
Agreed! - Ian Andrade.
